Getting started

What is GateChecker?

GateChecker is an app for running a residential community. It handles gate security — visitors, vehicles and staff — and daily work like notices, complaints and polls. There is a resident app, a guard app and a committee app, plus a web panel for the committee.

How do we start?

Get in touch on the contact page or on WhatsApp. We show you a short demo, set up your community and import your list of homes. Residents then download the app and ask to join their home, and the committee approves them.

Does it work for row houses and villas?

Yes. Your community can have wings and floors, plain house numbers, or a mix of both. We set it up the way your place is built.

Which phones does it work on?

Residents, guards and committee members use the GateChecker app on Android or iOS. The committee can also use the web panel on a computer.

Does the gate need internet?

Yes. The guard’s phone needs mobile data or Wi-Fi, because visitor requests go to residents’ phones as they happen.

Which languages does the app support?

English, ગુજરાતી and हिन्दी. Each person picks their own language in the app.

Residents

How do I sign in?

With your mobile number. The app sends you a one-time code (OTP) to confirm it is you.

How does visitor approval work?

The guard adds the visitor with a photo. You get a notification and tap allow, decline or leave at gate. If you do not answer, other members of your home are asked.

Can I invite a guest in advance?

Yes. Create an invite in the app and share the QR code with your guest. It works for the time you set, and the guard scans it at the gate.

Can my maid or driver get a regular pass?

Yes. Give them a daily pass for the days of the week and the hours they come. The guard checks the pass at the gate instead of calling you.

Can I call the guard from the app?

Yes. Tap “Call guard” on the home screen to call the gate.

What does SOS do?

In an emergency, press SOS in the app. It alerts the guards on duty, the committee members who handle emergencies, or both — you choose.

Guards

What does the guard app do?

The guard adds walk-in visitors with a photo, scans guest passes and vehicle stickers, checks staff in and out, and sees who is inside right now. Every entry and exit goes into the IN/OUT register.

What if a sticker or QR code will not scan?

The guard types the sticker code or the number plate instead and gets the same details.

Is the guard app easy for our guards?

Yes. It is made for use at the gate: scan a pass or sticker, add a walk-in and see who is inside, in a few taps. The guard app is in English, ગુજરાતી and हिन्दी.

What does a guard see about residents?

Only what is needed at the gate: a name, a phone number, the home and vehicle details. Guards do not see vehicle documents.

Committee

What can the committee do?

Approve residents, post notices, handle complaints and helpdesk tickets, run polls and events, verify vehicles and manage staff. A dashboard shows what is happening at the gate. All of this works in the app and on the web panel.

Can committee members have different access?

Yes. Access is based on each member’s role, so a member sees only the areas they look after.

How are our homes added?

We import them for you from a list, such as a spreadsheet. The committee can also add or change homes later in the web panel.

Can we download the gate register?

Yes. The committee can export the IN/OUT register as a CSV file, which opens in Excel.

Privacy & data

Who owns our community’s data?

Your community does. We use it to run the service and does not sell personal data. Ask us and we provide a copy, or delete it where the law allows. See the privacy policy and how to delete your data.

How long are visitor photos kept?

Visitor photos and gate entry and exit records are kept for as long as your society needs them for its register, or as the law requires. Your society can ask us to delete them sooner. The details are in the privacy policy.

Who sees a tenant’s visitors?

When a home is let out, the tenant’s family gets the visitor requests and sees the history, not the owner.

Pricing

How much does it cost?

GateChecker is currently available at no charge. See pricing for what is included today.

Will pricing change?

Our pricing and commercial terms may change in future. If they do, the applicable terms will be communicated to your committee.

What if we want to stop?

Tell us and we will help close your society’s account. You can ask for a copy of your data first. See the terms.
